COLLYWOOD HOME VIEWING FILM FESTIVAL 2008

Collywood Festival is on a mission to discover and develop independent artists and audiences from the Caribbean for the New Global black film market GBFM .

The 1st annual Home DVD Viewing Film Festival will be launched next year . The festival focused primarily on the presentation of retrospective films and filmmaker seminars. However, from its inception, the festival features a national competition aimed at drawing attention to emerging Caribbean films made outside the Hollywood system - "independent" cinema.

The Collywood Film Festival includes documentaries and short films, along with its slate of dramatic features.

Responding to the need for support from an organization that could provide  financial backing, Pressing & Distribution and a network of contacts, the festival will become part of the Collywood Institute and will be adding International films from other countries  to its program as the festival grows.  Collywood Home DVD Viewing Film Festival will become recognized internationally as a showcase for the best in new Caribbean independent films for the mass home viewing DVD market world-wide.

Independent film makers can now showcase their films on DVD format in front of a captive audience and get feed backs before it’s general world wide release through Collywood.
